Your loved one will enjoy many activities at our home-like centers while being cared for by our professional staff. Our clients make new friends and exercise their minds and bodies each day. Clients also enjoy a nutritious breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack.
 
Our staff make your loved one’s dignity and comfort their top priorities. Our nurses also work with your family and your loved one’s doctors to:
 
• Manage their medications
• Monitor any health conditions
• Coordinate health services

We offer a range of services in our centers to help our clients look and feel their best. These include:
 
• Podiatry
• Salon services
• Bathing assistance
• Physical, occupational, and speech therapy
 
We are open during the day Monday through Friday and will work to accommodate your schedule. Clients can attend our programs on a regular or occasional basis.  Half-days are also available.

Q.  Who operates your adult day services centers?
A.  Valley Care Association, a non-profit organization serving seniors, operates both the Ambridge and Moon Township adult day services centers.

 

Q.  How long have your adult day services centers been in operation?
A.  Our Ambridge program has been in operation since 1982. We built our own adult day services center in Ambridge in 2001.  Our Moon Township center has been open since 2009 in a custom-designed facility.

 

Q.  Are your adult day services centers licensed by the state?
A.  Yes, we are fully accredited by the Pennsylvania Department of Aging.  Our centers are also routinely monitored by the Beaver and Allegheny County Area Agencies on Aging.  We are proud to say that both of our centers received exceptional reviews in 2010.

 

Q.  When are your adult day services centers open?
A.  Our centers are open Monday through Friday.  We will work to accommodate your family’s schedules.

 

Q.  Do you provide transportation to and from your adult day services centers?
A.  We do not provide transportation to and from our centers.  Many of our clients take the DART (Beaver County) or ACCESS (Allegheny County) shared ride system operated by the county transit authorities.  To learn more about these programs, contact:

Q.  What services are offered at your adult day services centers?
A.  We offer a variety of services to help our clients look and feel their best.  Clients enjoy nutritious breakfasts, lunches, and snacks at the centers. Our clients also enjoy a variety of activities, including:

  • Cooking club
  • Trivia games
  • Weekly aerobics classes
  • Outings to museums, sporting events and restaurants
Our nurses will:
  • Administer medications
  • Monitor health conditions
  • Provide dietary counseling
  • Coordinate health care with other providers
We also offer:
  • Bathing services
  • Incontinence care
  • Visits from physical, occupational, and speech therapists
  • Regular visits from a beautician
  • Regular visits from a podiatrist
     
Q.  What does it cost to have my loved one attend your adult day services program?
A.  Our current pricing is:
  • $62 per day at Ambridge
  • $70 per day at Moon

Many of our clients qualify for financial assistance through the county Area Agencies on Aging. This funding may pay for all or part of your loved one’s tuition at our centers.

 

We also have a limited number of scholarships through the Elizabeth G. Moore Fund to provide temporary assistance to families in immediate need of our services.

Q.  Is there financial assistance available to help pay for your adult day services program?
A.  Yes, there are several financial assistance opportunities available to those who qualify. The Pennsylvania Department of Aging Waiver and OPTIONS programs may provide financial support for your loved one to attend our adult day services program if they meet the eligibility requirements. Q.  Do you accept clients with memory loss, limited mobility, and incontinence?
A.  Yes, we specialize in supporting older adults with memory loss and have extensive experience offering engaging programs for clients coping with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia. We are fully accessible and accommodate people with a range of mobility.  We also offer incontinence care.

 

Q.  Do you have professional staff with the appropriate training?
A.  Yes. We have a full time nurse at each of our centers who handles all of the medical needs of our clients. All of our support staff are trained program aides and complete 16 hours of appropriate first aid, safety, and educational trainings each year.

A.  We have a 1:5 staff to client ratio, which is in compliance with state regulations.
