About
Valley Care Association
Our Vision
Valley Care Association is
recognized within the community as a valued resource dedicated to improving
and expanding services to seniors residing in the Sewickley Valley area.
Who We Are
Valley Care Association has been serving
seniors and their families in the Sewickley Valley Community of Pennsylvania
since 1978. Whether you are facing challenges associated with growing
older or know someone who is,
Valley Care Association is
here to help. Rooted in community values,
Valley
Care Association supports the quality of life for seniors through
our own programs and the support we offer individuals and organizations
in our community:
- Valley Care Adult Day Services provides
a welcoming and stimulating environment designed to enable older adults
to socialize, learn, and re-establish hobbies and interests.
- Valley Care Association's Home Safe Home program
helps older adults live independently, comfortably, and safely in their
own homes.
As a community resource,
Valley Care Association also
provides financial sustainability and technical assistance to local groups
and organizations serving seniors.
Individuals faced with caring for an aging loved
one can also contact
Valley Care Association for
assistance in navigating the maze of senior programs and services available.
Our History
In 1978, five community organizations established
Valley
Care Association as a nonprofit corporation to fill the gaps in
services for seniors in the Sewickley Valley. We spent the early years
developing a 128-bed nursing home and the
Valley
Care Adult Day Services program. As the residential care industry
changed,
Valley Care looked at how to best
serve the community. In 1999, the Board of Trustees decided to sell the
nursing home to the Masons, who went on to develop the Masonic Village
at Sewickley, a continuing care retirement community. Today,
Valley
Care Association's dedicated staff continues its legacy of providing
the highest quality of care.
